METS Mobility Paratransit Service

 

"ADA Paratransit" Service is a service that METS provides to individuals who, because of a disability, are prevented from using our fixed route service. This might include not being able to get to or from bus stops, not being able to get on or off the buses, or not being able to understand how to ride and use the bus system.

METS will provide service to persons determined "ADA Paratransit Eligible", for those trips that cannot be make using the fixed route service. You may, for example, be able to use fixed route bus service for some trips if stops are nearby and there are no barriers which prevent you from getting to and from the bus. At other times you might not be able to get to and use the buses.

There are two types of "ADA Paratransit" eligibility.

These are:

  • Unconditional - this eligibility is granted if your disability prevents you from using fixed route service for any trips that you might need to take.

  • Conditional - this eligibility is granted if you can use fixed route service under certain circumstances, but need van service for certain trips.

Fare structure per one-way trip.  Fare is dependent on eligibility status. 

 

ADA - $2.00

Convenience - $3.00

 

Ride cards are also available.

 

ADA - $20 (10 rides)

Convenience - $30 (10 rides)

Ride cards are available at our Main Office in the Civic Center Room 321 between the hours of 8am and 4:45pm or you may also purchase them at 601 John Street between the hours of 8am-3:45pm Mon-Fri (excluding holidays).  For your conveniece, you may print a order form  to mail in and have your ride cards mailed back to you.
