Oversees County offices.  Executive branch of County government.

County Council
Is the fiscal body of County government 

Assessor
Assesses persons and property and the discovery and assessment of property, makings lists and returns.

Auditor
County Controller.  Keeps ledgers and records affecting County funds; receiving and disbursing.

Circuit Court

Vanderburgh County Court System
Coroner
Investigates deaths resulting from criminal or violent means, by casualty, suicide or sudden or suspicious deaths.

County Clerk
Administrative services of the County Court and County government; as well as, running and certification of elections.

Prosecutor's Office
Investigation and County prosecution of violations of State criminal laws, child support orders, and establish paternity.

Recorder
Preserves public records.

Sheriff's Office
Provide emergency service, personal and property protection to residents of Vanderburgh County, and manage the county correctional facilities.

Superior Court

Surveyor

County Surveyor, maintains public land survey system, and other duties

Treasurer
Collection and administration of money due the County.

 

County Departments

Burdette Park
Provide recreational opportunities to City and County residents.

County Engineer
Designs and/or oversees road projects under the jurisdiction of the Board of Commissioners; as well as, maintenance of all bridges in Vanderburgh County (including the city limits of Evansville) except those on state roads.

Health Department
Enforces all health laws, ordinances, rules and regulations and collects vital statistics in health areas.

Highway Department
Maintenance and paving of roads and streets under the jurisdiction of the Board of Commissioners ensuring that roads are passable during inclement weather by clearing them of snow and ice, felled trees, and clean out ditches to ensure that runoff water flows smoothly

Veterans Services
Assists veterans, spouses, and dependants with questions about benefits. 

Voters Registration
Registers voters in Vanderburgh County and supplies registration records to the political parties, election office, and the public.

Planning to ensure efficient and effective growth and development for Evansville and Vanderburgh County by means of zoning permits.

Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Provides vision, strategy, direction and oversight for information technology resources.

Computer Services

Manges the mainfrane environment for the City and County and the platforms supporting the Executive, Administrative, Fiscal, and Judicial functions of City and County government.

Emergency Management Agency (EMA)

City-County - Coordinates in the event of emergencies and disasters.

Joint Central Dispatch

Receives emergency telephone calls for assistance in relation to Fire, Police and Sheriff calls and dispatches proper equipment.

Legal Aid Society

Provides legal assistance to low income families in family and civil matters.

Solid Waste Management

Educates about waste reduction, reuse and recycling programs

 

Weights & Measures

Enforces laws pertaining to weights and measures and supervision of weighing and measuring devices and commodities
