The County Surveyor is an ex-officio and a non-voting member of the County Drainage Board, and is the technical authority on the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of all regulated drains or proposed regulated drains in the county.

The Vanderburgh County Drainage Board's minutes are also published on the Vanderburgh County Auditor's website. The drainage board meetings can also be viewed on local public television. Drainage Board meetings as well as many County and City meetings are also streamed live here.
The agenda for the Drainage Board is posted at noon on the day before the meeting. Drainage plans must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the date of the meeting. All Encroachment Agreements must be submitted in a timely manner in order to be heard before the board.
