Since then, our buses and paratransit vans have transported more than 45 million passengers.

Operations (Fixed Route):

Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS) provides transportation for the public on 22 fixed route service areas; informs the public of existing routes, as well as new or improved service; coordinates and plan routes and schedules; keeps a constant check on the effectiveness of service; implements and controls all managerial functions involved with the METS transit operation.

Operations (METS Mobility):

Provides paratransit service for persons 65 years or older or those with a documentable disability that limits their use of the METS regular route system (not for emergency use or ambulance service.) Trip reservations must be made by 4:00 pm the day prior. Drivers assist passengers with parcels and/or grocery bags. Operates in the corporate limits of the City, and a 3/4 mile wide corridor along either side of regular bus routes that extend beyond the City limits.

Maintenance

Implements preventative maintenance programs; provides complete mechanical failure restoration; repairs and refurbishes vehicles when applicable; reduces operation expenses and increase fleet productivity by monitoring equipment; records and maintains a viable inventory of parts to provide prompt and accurate maintenance of the fleet.
