In an effort to assist the Evansville Police Department in promptly contacting owners of rental property within the city limits, the Evansville City Council, the Police Department, and landlords and tenants worked together to create a registry of accurate contact information.

On Monday September 8, 2014, the Evansville City Council passed Ordinance G-2014-29.

Annually, all single-dwelling and/or multi-dwelling rental property owners MUST register online or register at the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Building Commission Office. There is a cost of $5 per rental parcel or rental community.  To avoid any possible late fees, the form must be submitted by the deadline below.

Walk-in & Online Registration will be from March 11th - May 10th

Mail-in Registration will be from March 11th – May 31st

A new owner or agent information must be reported to the Building Commission.

Important Information when registering:

  • You will need the parcel address listed on the tax bill.
  • Set hours for walk-in registration are 8 to 11AM Monday through Friday on days the Civic Center is open.
  • Owners with 10 or more properties must call for a personal appointment or register online.
